The brief, imagined
A two-person studio planting small gardens and taking commissions for the difficult corners. Good at the work, invisible on the internet, and embarrassed by the website they bought in 2016.
The direction
Slow, and confident about it. A serif with a bit of give in it, one green that looks like a leaf rather than a brand, and the studio's own photographs - taken by the person who does the digging, which is the only reason they are worth showing at all.
The site is four pages and a note that changes with the season. No blog, no "our values" carousel, and nothing that needs updating for its own sake.
What it would be built with
Hand-written pages, images at two sizes, and a form that goes to a real inbox. The interesting part is the restraint: the fastest version of this site is the one with the least on it, and a two-person studio can afford to be that.
